SLAM

Every protest is better with music! The Seattle League of Activist Musicians exists to match up protest organizers with volunteer musicians to bring more fun and energy to their events.

SLAM is inspired by the Boston Area Brigade of Activist Musicians (BABAM), and generations of musicians who have stepped up to unit and inspire people during difficult times.

Songs of protest and under-class unity surely go back to ancient Mesopotamia and Egypt. In the US, we have examples from the American Revolution and such movements as the abolitionists, women’s rights, labor, civil rights, anti-war, black lives matter, occupy and more.

There are songs for every cause. SLAM will be there to play them.
